Kominfo ministry closes 5,429 online lending sites misusing personal data

“The Kominfo ministry continues to oversee mobile phone operators to ensure that personal data is handled in accordance with laws and regulations,” Kominfo Minister Johnny Gerald Plate said in a written statement cited by Tempo on Thursday 30 December.

The blocking has been done on various platforms like websites, social media, right up to file sharing platforms. Johnny acknowledged that issues related to the misuse of private data in the financial services industry are always problematic.

The ministry, he added, would thus continue to strengthen oversight of data management to prevent widespread misuse of data.

Johnny also asked the public to file a complaint if they find any indications of data misuse via the ministry’s email [email protected] People can also report to aduankonten.id dan [email protected] if they discover that content violates regulations.

As for complaints about telecommunications services, the report could be issued directly through the Kominfo Ministry Twitter account @aduanPPI. “This is for reports related to disturbing calls or messages, including advertisements for unwanted offers and fraudulent messages,” Johnny concluded.
